Richfield Springs - Owen D. Young's Dylan Hosford made his 1000th point game one to remember. Four members of the club welcomed Hosford into their fraternity with a game ball early in the first quarter, but that was just the beginning. He scored a game-high 39 with four threes to become the 10th RSO student to cross the threshold. His performance capped his team's dominant opening round win vs. higher seed Milford. Hosford was joined in double figures by Austin Bowman's 12 and Milford was led by Carter Stevens' 16. RSO moves on to the second round to face Morris, the #1 overall seed in Section 4. The two teams met twice this year already, with RSO losing by 1 each time...the most recent was a triple-overtime thriller last week in the TVL championship. Tip time Saturday is 6 pm. Richfield Springs National Honor Society is sponsoring a blood drive on Friday, March 25th from 9:00AM - 2:00PM in the gym. To donate, sign up with Mrs. Mayne, a Honor Society member, by calling the Red Cross, or by visiting the Red Cross website. Please see the attached flyer for more information.
Kindergarten students celebrated the 100th day of school by dressing up like they are 100 years old! They also did several fun projects! One of these projects included using the aging booth app to make themselves look old and wrinkled. They then wrote sentences about what life might be like at 100 years old and recorded themselves reading those sentences. The videos are adorable!

RSO and Morris battled thru three overtimes in one for the ages on Saturday in the TVL Championship Game. Morris came in as the league and section's #1 seed and sealed the win on Ethan Franklin's only basket of the game, a 3 pointer to win by one 87-88. Morris was led by Scott Murphy's 21, Jon Child's 22 and Garrett Aikens 17. RSO was led by Dylan Hosford's game leading 34, leaving him just 2 points shy of 1000. RSO had three others in double figures with Austin Bowman's 12, Brayden Dunckel's 14 and Jordan Diliberto's 16. Both eagerly await sectional pairings with each team expected to earn a home game to start the tournament.

RSO proved last night that sometimes the entire story isn't in the box score. The MVPs of last night's game were Andrew Oakley and Clay Bobnick setting the tone on defense. Without them, the Indians lost the first match-up of the season vs Franklin. With the tip of them at the tip of the arrow, RSO was dominant in a 78-57 win over Franklin. On the offensive side, Dylan Hosford had an efficient 28, Austin Bowman pounded in 18 and Jordi Diliberto bombed away for 14. Franklin's Matter Serrao gave it his all, but his game-high 32 just weren't enough to keep pace. There is also a small reward for anyone who has video evidence of Bowman's thunderous dunk. Richfield Springs-ODY continues its quest for a first-ever TVL title Saturday at Laurens vs. top-seeded Morris. Ticket availability will be shared soon.
