Yesterday, there was an amazing smell in the building, and many were asking about it. Today we found out what was being prepped! Mr. Abbruzzese, Ms. Wilkinson and the cafeteria staff were busy making homemade Utica greens and chicken riggies for lunch. The greens disappeared quickly. Both dishes were insanely delicious. We appreciate the level of care that goes into their cooking and taking care of everyone at RSCS. Amazing!

SPORTS UPDATE: Today's Varsity Girls Soccer game has been postponed. We will notify everyone once the game has been rescheduled.
Homecoming will be Friday, October 4th and Saturday, October 5th. Activities are open to the public, but the dance itself is only for those students in grades 7-12.

Mrs. Barnhart and Mrs. Dykstra's classes planted this garden last school year and it grew into this beautiful garden of flowers and fall.

We are very excited for the 2024-2025 school year and of its opportunities for the Richfield Springs Eagles in the classrooms, on the playing fields and stages. We would like to encourage all of our students to play sports, try out for the musical, join a club and/or organization.
Please join us on Thursday, September 12th for our annual Open House. We are hosting a Community Organization and Resource Fair throughout the halls from 5-7PM. Spaghetti dinner kicks off at 5:30. From 6-7, elementary classrooms will be open and the secondary departments will be set up in the elementary gym. Please come in for this great event and opportunity to meet all of our wonderful Richfield Springs staff and the people from all of the supportive programs assisting our community.
There are many very important things that we need from our school community to do in order to ensure our future wellness and success. Again this year, we have qualified for free meals for all of our students through the State of New York. That being said, we need to maintain accurate records to be eligible in the future. The statistics from those applications are also used to determine the federal grants that the District is eligible for. This online application is very quick and easy, but is exceptionally important. Please take the time to look at the eligibility requirements and send the completed application in to the school. This is of exceptional importance.
A tremendous resource to our students and their families is the Bassett School Based Health Center (SBHC). If your family is not already enrolled, please take the time to enroll your children. Over 83% of our student body is enrolled going into the school year. The clinic is able to see our enrolled students during the school day, eliminating the need for parents to take time off from work for appointments. Services include health care, mental health counseling, and dental work with absolutely no cost to our families.
We wanted to include one more reminder that cell phones, smart technology, such as smart watches, and any form of headphones/earbuds are not to be used or seen during the school day from 8AM until 3PM. We are also requiring students to remove their hats and hoods when they enter the building, and keep them off throughout the school day. We want our students to be present and focused, learning as students and socially interacting as people all day, preparing them to be successful individuals in the world community.
Please don’t be strangers, come out to some school events, volunteer and get involved in our school community.
